The solution intY proposed was based on Microsoft Exchange 2007 to deliver a unified Email system for Email with shared calendars, contacts and address books. This was integrated with intY’s hosted MailDefender to provide robust email security.   Microsoft office Sharepoint Services (MOSS) was chosen as the main platform for sharing engineering data across international boundaries and between teams. With a portal that can be customised to individual needs it allows users to search the entire company for distributed content and create custom workflows using online forms that integrate with databases and existing applications.

The system also delivered Business Intelligence capability by providing data critical to the organisations objectives through a wide range of mechanisms, from real time data on server-based spreadsheets with sophisticated analyses inbuilt  , to the presentation of key performance indicators (KPIs) in easy to read dashboards.
