SaaS Technology Powerhouse intY Reveals Strategic Alliance with Microsoft to Deliver Business Productivity Services to SMBs
WPC 2010, Washington DC. July 12th 2010
SaaS specialist intY have announced an alliance with Microsoft to offer Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS).
The question many in the industry are asking is: who are intY and why were they selected by Microsoft, to pilot an alternative approach to supplying their online services?
intY has achieved rapid success selling SaaS to larger organisations. By taking a radically different approach, intY has focused on providing unique technology and solutions to enable the high seat count Enterprise space to better compete in this demanding environment.
Mark Herbert, Business Development Director at intY explains, “Early on, we recognised that SaaS delivers more advantages to enterprises than many had previously thought. Our approach to successful deployment of SaaS to larger enterprises is underpinned by some unique IP, combined with a rigorous project management, implementation and support infrastructure that most small and medium business (SMB) focused SaaS vendors were unable to provide. By adopting this approach, we have successfully deployed many multi-thousand user multinational companies onto Microsoft software and services.”
“As the cloud becomes more predominant, businesses of all sizes are looking to hosted services, such as Microsoft Online Services, to gain business advantages and improve business productivity,” said John Zanni, general manager of worldwide hosting for the Communications Sector at Microsoft Corp. “We’re pleased to be working alongside intY to help them deliver a broad set of enterprise-ready products and services that build on their existing capabilities and skill sets.”
Moving forward in the Channel with BPOS
What this now means is that channel partners supplying BPOS through intY will retain ownership and control of their relationship with their customers, something which is sure to please resellers.
“Our BPOS syndication agreement allows us to take Microsoft Online Services to our channel partners in a different way,” says Herbert, “enabling them to seamlessly combine Microsoft Online Services with cloud products from other vendors and their own services. We are signing up partners who are focussed on mid-size and larger enterprises and because of our collaboration with Microsoft we are able to provide improved margins, sales support, and incentives.”
BPOS is a channel and Enterprise proposition
For large end users the search for reliability and flexibility makes SaaS a compelling solution, but without the channel to provide all of the component parts it is not easy to adopt. This new approach from Microsoft and intY enables large organisations to take full advantage of software and services. By engaging with intY, partners have all of the requisite tools and support at their disposal to execute an effective migration that delivers one touch deployment management and control within a secure managed environment.
Mark Herbert said, “With intY, even the most cautious reseller can include SaaS in their portfolio – which can only further accelerate the growth of Cloud computing.”
intY Ltd (intY) develops, integrates and delivers internet access security and business applications in a Software-as-a-Service model (SaaS) to Enterprise and SME customers through direct and indirect channels. The organisation was established in 1997 and has been at the forefront of ‘pay as you go’ managed IT and security services from its inception. intY’s intellectual property is extensive in both the deployment and management of security and application services on-demand and the cohesive management of these services.
