intY recruits North American Partner Network

20th September 2011

Bob O’Connor, Vice president Sales announces intYs drive to build a partner network throughout North America delivering cloud computing applications, products and services that offer significant benefits to both partners and customer alike.

As cloud computing rapidly now moves to the mainstream for both small and medium sized enterprises as well as larger corporates due to the overwhelming benefits of cost control, access to the latest technology and guaranteed service levels, organizations are contacting their traditional suppliers of IT services in order to understand the technology and how it may benefit their company.

They require accurate, unbiased and up to date information combined with the ability to provide solutions from a multiplicity of application vendors in order to deliver solutions that are appropriate for their requirements.
intY partners operate within an umbrella of technical, marketing and operational support that enables the delivery of cloud solutions from leading applications providers that can be provisioned, managed and billed by the partner enabling rapid migration to cloud services that are incorporated in one service level.

Bob O’Connor says, “This is a tremendous opportunity for partners who have built their businesses on a traditional Software-as-a-Product business model to now incorporate cloud computing as part of their product portfolio.”

Mark Herbert discusses future opportunies in Cloud Computing

14th September 2011

Mark Herbert, Chief Technologies Officer at intY, has been approached by Sourcing Focus (www.sourcingfocus.com) to discuss the opportunities which exist in the coming year for Cloud Computing.

“As confidence in the cloud model increases, and the benefits start becoming a reality, over the next 12 months organisations will start to use the cloud for more and more, well, for everything in fact; including the server, telephony services, CRM, desktop software licenses, line of business systems, accountancy services, email services and security.”

"The result – small businesses will no longer need a computer room because their network applications and services will be in the ‘cloud’; management and software costs will plummet. Completely scalable, the cloud will also enable them to increase or decrease their IT based on business requirements. Complex licensing will begin to be a thing of the past, as will static contracts tying you to systems that don’t adapt to changing business needs."

intY MD Chris Baldock comments on FSTech's 'One Size Fits All' article

17 May 2011

Chris Baldock, intY Managing Director, is quoted throughout a recent Financial Service Technologies article regarding Cloud Computing 'One Size Fits All'.

“Investing in technology has always been resource-prohibitive for SMEs, which has historically made them more open to the concept of, and benefits that come with, cloud computing. Without extensive internal IT resource, they have great impetus to outsource to cloud providers both for service and support.”

Smaller institutions, Baldock adds, are often more “nimble” than their larger counterparts, making the adoption of a cloud service “less of a transition” for them.

Chris Baldock & Mark Herbert comment on the Microsoft takeover of Skype

16 May 2011

Chris Baldock, intY Managing Director, and Mark Herbert, intY Business Development Director, comment on Microscope's article on Microsoft's takeover of Skype 'Microsoft Skype marriage to benefit the channel'.

So does this mean voice-centric companies...should be worried? Chris Baldock's colleague, intY co-founder and business development director Mark Herbert says yes, they will be.

"The voice market should be much more worried than the IT market by this, because the data channel suddenly has a much bigger market to play in," he says. "The voice channel doesn't go into the data market quite so easily or enthusiastically."

intY Launches Cloud UC Service

13 May 2011

intY, today announced the launch of its new Cloud Unified Communications Service for channel partners. The solution, available as a white label service, brings together Microsoft Lync hosted telephony into a single integrated voice, data and collaboration solution billed on a per user, per month basis.

As the channel looks to accelerate its adoption of cloud services, resellers and service providers can immediately take advantage of the growing market for cloud-based UC through reselling intY's bundled voice, data and UC solution either 'out-of-the-box' or tailored to specific needs.

Chris Baldock, managing director of intY, explains, "Demand for integrated business tools that enable users to communicate from anywhere in a cost-effective and secure manner is huge. Add to this the economic drive toward OPEX and on-demand IT services, and UK businesses are clearly cloud-ready. In launching this new service, we are helping to make sure our channel partners have the solutions in place to meet current and future demand."

The cloud-based service incorporates hosted Microsoft Lync 2010 and hosted IP PBX to deliver a secure, scalable, and easily managed email, messaging and collaboration platform complete with business-grade voice. Critically, the new UC service can be fully and seamlessly integrated with intY's current portfolio of Integrated Online Services including cloud-based Microsoft apps such as SharePoint and Exchange and intY's own web, desktop and email security services, all delivered to the customer in one bill.

This multiplicity of services enables partners to rapidly bring on-board, and scale, tailored cloud solutions on demand in order to provide end-users greater economies of scale and convergence across their entire voice, data, collaboration and applications infrastructure.

Baldock continues, "Offering Unified Communications from the cloud is a no brainer for the channel in terms of expanding existing portfolios and securing recurring and new revenue streams. However, the capital cost of setting up and managing a high performing hosted environment with the high standard of vendor technologies required has kept this out of reach for many channel players. Opening up intY's enterprise-class services portfolio and high-density data centers to these providers creates a level playing field for both channel and end-user."

"Previously the domain of large enterprise customers, the new service opens up UC-as-a-Service model to mid-sized enterprises, thus increasing the market opportunity for the channel. At the same time the integration of best of breed technologies will enable end-users to further consolidate their infrastructure and simultaneously realize greater collaborative and efficiency benefits as a result. It's win-win."

Microsoft VARs vent cloud concerns - CRN Article

25 February 2011

Microsoft's cloud marketing strategy has come under fire over claims its "All In" campaign has alienated some partners. The software giant has been using the "All In" tagline over the past year to demonstrate its commitment to the cloud.

The campaign is said to have upset a large number of Microsoft's software resellers, causing them to question how they fit in with the firm's cloud-focused future.

Mark Herbert, business development director at Microsoft BPOS Syndication Partner IntY, said comments made at last year's partner conference may have exacerbated things. "I was at the World Partner Conference (WPC) last year when Steve Ballmer told partners that 'if you're not in the cloud, you're not our folks'," he said.

It's about to kick off in voice-land

16 February 2011

It hasn't started properly yet but we are about to see some interesting things happen in the area of voice communications and the cloud.

There are some providers doing good business from the emerging sweet spots where internet-based voice services fit today, but we are about to see some real changes in the heartland of conventional landline phone calls.

Generally, customers remain skeptical about the reliability of IP voice communications and don't yet have the necessary incentives to go there, but, as the rate of innovation, reliability and the cost of entry lowers, customers will reach a tipping point and the fun will begin. ISPs are already planning for this event, as are the telcos, but the channel has the most exciting opportunity.

Data sovereignty: the channel's last refuge?

15 February 2011

In cutting out the middleman, the internet has delivered huge benefits to consumers and the enterprise. This new direct business model, though, is wreaking havoc on a channel that is the intermediary, and would rather not be cut out of the equation.

Corporations such as Microsoft and Google, with huge marketing budgets, are entering the market and educating customers on this new era of direct supply of cloud services. In many cases they have no tiered reseller model.

Agile channel players are embracing this as an opportunity by upping their professional services and helping customers migrate to the latest and greatest cloud thing. But turnover from hardware sales and software licensing is gone and the raw commission from cloud service sales isn't great.

Channel suffering a squeezed middle

14 February 2011

As resellers jostle to take advantage of the cloud opportunity, it's apparent the channel is changing."

And if we split the channel into small resellers, mid-tier and large service providers, we see the mid-tier being squeezed from above and below.

Cloud enables smaller resellers to punch above their weight. By offering trusted, big-brand cloud services, they're able to fulfill contracts with much larger customers that they might not previously have had the opportunity to deal with. And they have the luxury of gradually migrating from a business built on front-loaded cash deals to one based on recurring revenues - no need to cannibalize existing customers.

intY to help channel break into Cloud Computing Market

7 February 2011

Cloud and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) specialist, intY, has announced an aggressive partner recruitment and training program for 2011 that will enable resellers and large service providers to break into the burgeoning cloud computing market.

Utilizing intY's cloud services and applications, its two tailored programs, will allow accredited partners to realize new revenue streams, and offer a compelling proposition to existing and prospective customers. intY is looking to recruit up to 300 resellers to its agent program, and have already signed eight partners to its strategic partner program, including influential channel players Daisy, KCom and Thus.

Chris Baldock

Chris Baldock, managing director of intY, explains: "The capital cost of setting up a hosted environment, and skilling up to design and sell cloud services is, for many partners, cost prohibitive. Instead, we're offering immediate access to our enterprise-class services portfolio and high-density data centres, allowing partners to exploit the growing cloud and hosted opportunity and target prospect businesses that might previously have been out-of-reach."

For resellers, accreditation to the agent program can be completed in as little as one week, and those that sign up will receive comprehensive training and ongoing IT and sales support. intY's portfolio, which through their Microsoft Syndication Agreement incorporates intY Integrated Online Services and Office365, is suitable for SMB and enterprise organizations.

Daisy Group Plc, a provider of integrated voice and data services to more than 70,000 SME and mid-market customers, recently signed up to the strategic partner program. Chris Jagusz, commercial director at Daisy, explains why:

"intY's cloud services have given Daisy access to a rapidly developing market far faster than we could achieve on our own. The depth of expertise means that we can bring customers a great commercial proposition in the knowledge that we're not putting their business at risk with unproven technology. Partnering with intY has enabled us to expand our product offering, contributing to our customer retention and new business pipeline."

Baldock concludes: "The future of ICT is utility computing, whereby customers provision capacity, services and applications on-demand. With 14 years heritage in SaaS, intY has the experience and expertise to help resellers make the transition from delivering on-site ICT solutions to become service-oriented businesses, but do so in a cost-effective manner."

Resellers interested in joining the agent accreditation program can register for intY's UK tour - a series of workshops at which partners can learn more about intY's service portfolio, the internal and external pressures driving cloud adoption, the market landscape, and how to profile and sell cloud to prospect customers.

intY breaks cloud cover - Channel Pro Article

4 February 2011

Channel Pro have interviewed intY's Managing Director Chris Baldock regarding the future of SaaS and the Cloud.

In the article, Baldock believes that resellers who think they can carry on without a cloud or hosted strategy are deluded, "the days of the traditional mail server are over, that business is dead ... intY offers a common single platform for partners to provision, bill and support a range of solutions including the core Microsoft family of Exchange, Sharepoint, Office live and communication server. These are further wrapped with email scanning, archive and security."

"intY is an interesting company and its history as a software supplier to the hosted market actually gives it an immediate relationship building benefit in the emerging SaaS / cloud community ... Cloud is a great leveller and intY might well become a major cloud service provider and is certainly worthy of consideration by the channel at this pivotal point." ChannelPro
